Will you be a Co-worker in the Harvest?
In episode #8 We are talking about how you can be a co-worker in the field for the Kingdom Harvest. From sowing to reaping…there is something for each of us to do!
Highlight on Revival
Today I want to take a few minutes to review some highlights and then I have a question for you.
Our last few episodes have been focused on revival. We have reviewed ways we as individuals can prepare for revival. We have heard that the price of revival is surrender. We learned that individual revival brings corporate revival. We have also discussed healthy habits of Christian leaders, how to go deeper in our faith, how the Holy Spirit enters our life and begins to fill us, and we’ve heard some awesome stories of where God is at work and even a testimony of healing. If you missed any of those episodes you might want to go back and take a listen.
“We need to be ready to confess our sins, receive forgiveness, and put our complete trust in Jesus. We need to get to a place where we are capable of helping other people get one step further in their walk.”

Co-Worker in the Harvest Field
I wonder how many of us are willing to sacrifice a little time and to invest in someone else. If we really want to prepare the church for the harvest, we need to be willing to do a little work. Just like in planting a garden: you have to be willing to sow the seeds, water the ground, keep the weeds from taking over and tend to the plants until they are fully developed.
Then we get to pick the juicy ripe cherry tomatoes from the vine and reap the full benefit of the harvest.
It is not very cool to walk into somebody else’s garden and pick their fruit, especially the first fruits of the season, without doing any of the work.
However, in the kingdom harvest this is exactly what happens. One person might sow the seed and share Jesus with someone. Another person comes along and waters that seed by sharing a testimony or teaching a class. Then we have to care and protect the seedlings and little plants. This might happen through mentoring or even just living a good example. All the while Jesus is working behind the scenes and preparing individuals to fully accept him. Then the day comes when that person decides to make a full commitment and ask Jesus into their heart. Whoever is there to see that magnificent event gets to see the results of all the other workers that have poured into that person.

Are you Willing?
If we truly want to see souls coming to the kingdom and lives transformed, we need to be willing to sow into the field. What that looks like may be different for each of us. It may be mentoring someone, or leading a discipleship group or Bible study, helping with children’s ministry, or picking up children or adults and taking them to church. Every one of us is gifted and talented and each of us has a purpose in this life to help build the kingdom of God.
What has God been asking you to do?
What has God been asking you to do?
Is there something that has already been on your mind? Do you have a passion for a certain group of people? Maybe you have a desire to help those that are in need, and you can help by providing food or clothing or teaching them interview skills so that they can get a better job.
Maybe you have a passion to help at a pregnancy crisis center. Helping young ladies through their pregnancy, providing for their needs, and teaching them how to be a new mother as they welcome their newborn into the world.
Whatever skills or talents you have can be used to help build the kingdom in some way or another. I remember teaching a youth Sunday school class and we discussed different careers and how you could use those positions in ministry. I had one student that would doodle on his paper constantly. I looked at him and said maybe one day you will draw pictures for the curriculum for a Sunday school class just like this one. His eyes lit up that he could use his talent in a way to please the Lord. We may have to get creative and give it some thought of how we can use our gifts and talents and even professions to minister or help those around us. I know several beauticians that gave free back to school haircuts. Some volunteer at nursing homes and give haircuts and style the ladies hair. That is just a couple of examples.
I know if you ask the Lord how you can help or minister, he will begin to show you! If you have a creative way that you minister or help, I would love to hear about it. Shoot me an email and give me all the details.

Where to Start…
OK back to preparing for revival. It really does start with us. Just imagine if everyone listening would begin to pray every day for revival in our own hearts, in our churches, in our communities, and in our nation. Then take one next step. If you are already praying like this then maybe add an alarm at 9:38 to pray according to Matthew 9:38 that the Lord would send workers into the harvest field. If you already do that then add a morning routine where you read the Bible And really spend time not only praying but listening for what the Lord might say to you. We talked about that in episode 3, about how to start your day right. you can go back and listen if you are looking for some tips or even a journal that you can use.
If you’re doing all those things then begin to look around you, and watch for divine appointments that the Lord may be putting in front of you. He may put someone in your path that needs something that you can offer them. It can be as simple as being kind to the cashier. If you notice he or she is having a bad day then let them know you’ll pray for them. We have no idea what people are going through around us, but we can be a light to those that are in a dark place.
I challenge you to pray about how you can be a coworker in the harvest field. What is it that God is asking you to do? Are you ready to go all-in with what Jesus has for you?
Renewal
Maybe you’re listening and your first step is to renew your own commitment to Christ. If you have drifted away and realize you need a closer relationship with the Lord before you can lend a hand in the harvest, today is the day to make that happen. He is waiting for you to turn to Him. He is there because He has been chasing after you.
Admit you have sinned and need a fresh cleansing, believe Jesus is the son of God and that He died and rose from the grave so that we might have eternal life, and confess your sins and ask for forgiveness. He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
